Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.

Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.

Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):

  • Politically sensitive comments
  • Promotional content
  • Illegal activities
  • Personal or sensitive information (e.g. emails, phone numbers or credit card info)
  • Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
  • Spam and fake content
  • Animal cruelty
  • Impersonation (e.g. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
  • Any violation of our review guidelines.

To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.

An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.

When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).

We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.

Guidelines and standards for Reviews

    “Loved it but couple of improvements would make it better”

    Pretty pricey and would have expected soft drinks included at dinner within half board.

    Property was beautiful and clean with really well kept surroundings. The dining area for breakfast and dinner was really beautiful and could often get seating outside which can sometimes be tricky during busy periods. Most staff were ok just not overly friendly, enjoyed the pool bars and pool areas, with nice sun lii lounger areas and it was nice to be so close to the beach walkway for morning and afternoon walks.

    The sand (in fact small stones) which is placed near the infinity pool hurt so bad, definitely needs replacement. It would be also nice to include soft drinks to half board offer - food is great, but soft drinks for additional fee seem to be unreasonable.

    Property’s facilities are just fascinating. The infinity pool is just great, the premises are very fancy and give sense of luxury. The territory is spacious, near by there is a bus stop so one can easily get around. The food provided by half-board is good quality, a lot of alternatives to choose from.

    While the choice of food at the Gastro Market Alameda was excellent a lot of the food was cold. This was disappointing

    While the resort is exceptionally it was fairly expensive. Possibly out of the reach for some. The introduction of reduced rates at certain times could attract more guests.

    “Smooth! Is that short enough?”

    The hotel is massive, we needed to use the changing room facilities on our last day as we had a last flight. They were a little tricky to find but ladies, don’t accidentally wonder into the men’s changing room! It stank of wee! The ladies as you can imagine was all sweetness and light! Haha! 👍

    The breakfast had everything anyone could wish for! Very busy at times but there was certainly no loosing out even if you turned up late! Sometimes the hot meals were more luke warm but I think you have to expect that on any buffet type arrangement. I couldn’t fault any of the staff, just working hard to keep you happy.

    The service is generally very poor. From the front desk to the poolside to the restaurants too many times we were told by someone "that's not me that's my colleague". I can't think of one occasion when even ordering drinks wasn't slow and complicated. Not 5 star above and beyond service at all. Felt like we were being a hassle asking basic questions.

    The hotel and the surroundings are excellent and the rooms are clean and comfortable. The food on the whole is good.

    Not much. Could prob use some extra pillows on the bed for sleeping, nicer towels in the room. Air conditioning could have been better.

    The overwhelming smell of garlic and burning off grills from the restaurant’s outside of the complex. You only really smelt it on the upper sun decks tho

    The prices at the hotel are reaching the limits of affordability for us, but if we can get a reasonable deal, happy to come back next year

    We loved everything about this hotel, especially the pools and the breakfast. The aquagym and yoga sessions were really enjoyable. Most of the after-dinner entertainment was high class

    The buffet area was incredibly busy and a bit chaotic at times. However, the quality was absolutely fine. On site restaurants were generally good.

    Pools, room and staff were all exceptional. The entertainment was generally very good as well.

    Food in the buffet was bad, particularly dinners - awful Food in the other restaurants was good If in pool/seaview rooms the evening/night entertainment music is quite loud- good if you are in mood, annoying if you are trying to sleep or get kids to sleep - seek quieter rooms

    Restaurants so popular it was difficult to get a reservation at peak times.

    Palatial resort. Lovely architecture and gardens all kept to a pristine standard. Delightful staff, excellent restaurants and the highlight for me, the huge infinity pool.

    “A lovely hotel to stay in and have a good relax.”

    It’s not specific to this hotel but the buffet style breakfasts/dinner do get a little annoying when it gets busy. However, that said, it didn’t really impact on my holiday

    As ever, the hotel and its staff were wonderful. Great location, really comfortable room, food was good, staff are always helpful and friendly. For such a large hotel, it is remarkably quiet.

    The staff seemed to be a bit overworked, so they were not so friendly and helpful. I ordered a taxi for 5 am, unfortunatelly I did not wake up on time, the taxi driver was waiting for me but the receptionist did not care, he did not call me. This is not a five-star service!No coffee in the room :(

    I really liked to pool, the park, the whole area. It was stunning! I liked the gym, the room was cosy with an amazing view. The food was average but great variety.

    We had an unfortunate check-in experience where the receptionist attending us was very disrespectful and quite prejudiced (complete contrast to the people being checked in next to us i.e. required many more checks, did not make eye contact, pointed out that one restaurant would be a 40 EUR menu and recommended wed try the others instead??). Made an official complaint with their Guest Services who were lovely and understanding.For the price you pay per night, it is surprising you also have to pay extra to use the Spa. I understand if you charge outside guests but not being allowed to make use of the pool despite it being right by the room was quite strange.

    The hotel is architecturally stunning, beautifully decorated and maintained ideally located near the beach and shopping. The room and bathroom were spacious and luxurious, could not be defaulted.

    “Luxurious hotel with great staf in you are looking gor a relaxing break.”

    The infinite pool was too cold and I expected it to be at heated. I had to pay for the Spa (sauna & steam rooms) I went with half board but was surprised to see I had to purchase drinks at dinner

    The beach and sand dunes were very inviting but it was too windy to swim. Amazing massage Great spa facilities The room layout was well organized and spacious, overlooking the pool.
